Fan Girl

"An infatuated fan finds an unexpected way to meet her celebrity crush and discovers a dark reality behind the facade of fame and her fantasy world."

The story deals with the reality of what the audiences can't see behind the camera, showing that the people are only in-love with the character that comes from the screen and in reality the actor is way different from his role. starring Paulo Avelino as a fictional version of himself and Charlie Dizon as jane an obsessed teenage girl. As seen from the trailer due to Jane's obsession she invites herself to the life of Paulo Avelino and discovers the whole truth about him. The film was a challenge to the actors for their roles require a different approach and method. what director Antoinette Jadaone did for the character of Paulo Avelino was to mix and match certain characteristics about himself for for him portraying himself was a hard task for he didn't know himself and he didn't know how the people see him as for the role of Jane the fan girl, a certain method was applied to the actress Charlie Dizon where she was treated as an actual fan, no access for a shooting tent and standby area, she is not allowed to talk to Paulo, director jadaone also advised Charlie to use a cute photo of Paulo Avelino as a wallpaper of personal phone to fully submerge to the idea that she is obsessed with Paulo and she is just a fan. The film won 9 awards including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Actress: Charlie Dizon, Best Actor: Paulo Avelino, Best Director: Antoinette Jadaone, Best Cinematography, Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Virtual Float - 3rd place.

That Thing Called Tadhana

"A woman struggling to meet airline baggage requirements meets a man who comes to her aid. They form a friendship that helps them mend each other's hearts."

The story deals with the reality that everyone should learn how to get rid of their own excess baggage. Staring Angelica Panganiban as Mace a broken hearted women and JM De Guzman as Anthony also a broken hearted men, in their situation Mace deals with her own struggle by letting out his anger and focusing it around her and Anthony deals with his own struggles by focusing on somebody else or looking out for someone which is Mace. The story was a minimalist approach to rom-com films where they focus on creating character and story development. simplifying the degree upon which the characters interact creates an understanding that this film was not exaggerating and that it is a simple realistic film. The film won 4 awards including Audience Award, C1 Original Awards: best actress, Champion Bughaw Awards, and Grand Jury Award: Best Narrative Feature.

Toledo, in making the film, the actors are thought of how should a UP college student should look and act like, director Antoinette Jadaone and most of the production team are an alumni of UP and knows about such things thus applying their shared representation of a UP couple, the film also featured some New York Genz elements and historical arts that was used to be the mood of the films, the film was heavily treated with the colors that matches the Spolarium for it is one the the key visuals of the film.
