New Season for Filipina...Bakit Ikaw?

After its successful launch last March 12, 2011, OBRA Inc. once again stages Filipina Bakit...Ikaw? A theatre play discussing the struggles of Filipino women in a seemingly modern society, yet the inequality between men and women still exists. We again open the stories of three different women: Filomena (Filice), Josephina (Pinpin) and Rosalina (Yna).

Swayed by what the promises of love Filice and Yna devoted themselves totally to the men they thought would do the same.
Yet things turned out to be different.





After being abandoned by the man who impregnated her, Filice tries to make ends meet by becoming an OFW. Her story revolves around the hardships experienced by ordinary Filipino workers abroad.





Yna, easily wooed by her lover, marries and now finds herself working in a call center to sustain and support their needs. Her story revolves around the trials of being a career woman and married life.




Pushed by poverty, Pinpin was forced to become a sex slave in one of the night clubs. Her story revolves around the agony of a woman of pleasure longing for a man who truly loves her.



Hear their cries, witness their struggles, fight their battle! OBRA Incorporated presents Filipina... Bakit Ikaw?
